last night as I listened in for 20 minutes as Chan "Catpower" Marshall and her creepy boyfriend had a horrible pre show fight in a dark corner of the parking lot last night.....the pain and sensitivity of art we feel and relate to comes from the artist who lives a bit too much in these emotional gray areas......sad yet facinating to me that those who give effort to expressing these themes of archetyepal love and emotional freedom are really the ones who are most victimized by them....But amazingly enough she was able to overcome bad argument and bad sound system, unresponsive crowd, and silly Elks Club style hall with no booze for us fans, and she played for almost 2 hours and even though was not a perfect show every song, there were enough moments of beauty to justify everything around me.
